The collection includes a fragment of a handwritten record book of the state Convention of the Baptist denomination in South Carolina. The record book originally contained the minutes of the Convention, 1821-1828, along with other documents related to the Convention, as indicated from the index to the record book. The record book includes an address issued by the Charleston Baptist Association to the South Carolina Association in 1820 calling for the organization for a state convention by Richard Fuller, John M. Roberts, and Joseph B. Cook. Also includes legal acts and forms prepared by the secretary of the Convention, Abner Blocker.
